Colorado Avalanche’s Gabriel Landeskog placed on injured reserve

It doesn’t look Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog will return from injury any time in the near future. Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar told reporters Wednesday that Landeskog will be placed on the injured reserve.

It doesn’t look like Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog will return from injury any time in the near future. Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar told reporters Wednesday that Landeskog will be placed on the injured reserve.

Landeskog last played Nov. 15. He’s missed the last six games with what’s being vaguely described as a “lower-body injury.”

Placing Landeskog on the injured reserve gives Colorado a chance to recall a forward from one of its lower-level affiliates.

Landeskog has recorded four goals and four assists in 15 games this year. This development is bad news for an Avalanche team that’s second-to-last in the NHL in goals per game at 2.24.
