Denver Fire and Community Planning & Development have announced that they’ll host a community forum on “safe creative spaces and artspace collaboration.”

During the forum, according to a newsletter from CPD, “Denver Arts & Venues and the Denver Commission on Cultural Affairs will share their efforts on artist live/work spaces through the Artspace study and its implementation. Additionally, representatives from Arts & Venues and Artspace will be on hand to provide residents updates and to discuss the national landscape regarding spaces and how Denver can benefit from other cities’ successes.”

They’ll also discuss tenant safety, zoning code and fire code.

The forum will be held on at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, in the McNichols Building, 144 W. Colfax Ave.

The forum comes after Denver Fire shut down DIY art spaces Rhinoceropolis and Glob for alleged code violations.
