The Denver Broncos are banged up. A glance at the injury report that went out Friday indicates several of the team’s key contributors are either questionable or out for Sunday’s game against the Chargers.

We know running back C.J. Anderson will not play. He underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his knee Thursday, and on Friday the Broncos placed him on injured reserve. That means he’ll miss at least eight weeks.

Four other starters status’ are in doubt for Sunday. It sounds like outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware won’t play; he practiced this week after coming back from a broken forearm.

But Broncos defensive coordinator told Nick Groke of the Denver post on Thursday, “I don’t know if he’s ready yet. He’s kind of in preseason (mode) right now.”

Center Matt Paradis (hip), cornerback Aqib Talib (lower back) and linebacker Brandon Marshall (hamstring) are all game-time decisions Sunday, according to Nicki Jhabvala of the Denver Post.

Denver (5-2) kicks off against San Diego (3-4) at 2:05 p.m.
