The Japanese clothing retailer Uniqlo plans to give away tote bags, gift cards and clothes for its grand opening Oct. 28.

The first 100 people in line will get up to $100 gift cards when the store opens its doors at 10 a.m. next week. The first 3,000 shoppers who spend $50 get a free thermal piece valued up to $14.90.

The Uniqlo opening on the 16th Street Mall will be the retailer’s first location in Colorado and likely the only store in the state for at least two years.

To celebrate the opening, Uniqlo will have the morning co-host of the 95.7’s JJ Kincaid Show, Deanna, lead a block party from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The store is also giving tote bags to shoppers who spend at least $100 and offering special pricing.

Those who check in on the app Swarm will get $5 to spend at the store, according to Uniqlo’s Facebook event page.

Uniqlo is renovating the space that was previously occupied by Barnes & Noble in The Denver Pavilions. The two-story, 22,000-square-foot store will be about a block away from the global retailer H&M.
