Himchuli soft opens today with Indian and Nepali cuisine in the Highlands

Himchuli, Highlands’ newest restaurant, has a soft open today, Dec. 23. They’ll be serving food and pouring Indian lagers and Westfax Brewery beers today.

The restaurant will be open today for lunch until 3 p.m., and then again from 5 to 9:30 p.m. It will “officially” open starting tomorrow, Dec. 24, with weekend service running from 11 a.m. through dinner.

They will be closed on Christmas Day, but then it’s full speed ahead.

Himchuli is at 3489 West 32nd Avenue, just west of Federal Boulevard. It replaces Small Wonder, but it’s trying to keep some of that prior tenant’s community atmosphere.

The place aims for “authentic and carefully prepared dishes with wines, beer and cocktails fit to complement each meal,” according to front-of-house manager Chase Thomas.

Owner KG Khagendra also owns Cuisine of the Himalayas in Evergreen. Himchuli’s cuisine is rooted in the owner’s family home in Nepal, south of Khatmandu, Thomas said.
