The Denver Police Department is reporting that a man who was taken to the hospital midday Friday after being hit by a car actually had a much worse time than that.

Here’s what went down, according to the department on Twitter:

The man was walking across the street when he was hit by a truck traveling eastbound on Sixth Avenue near Federal Boulevard. He then crossed the median and was hit by another vehicle on the westbound side.

But that didn’t stop him. Next, he climbed into a truck without the driver knowing. Once the driver realized what was happening, the person stopped and the man fell out.

The man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

There will be traffic delays in the area while police investigate.
