A suspect is in custody after the second act of vandalism in 24 hours at Donald Trump’s Colorado campaign headquarters.

The suspect, a young man who has not been identified, threw a rock through a window at the 18th Avenue and Clarkson Street office around 8:20 p.m. Friday, said Jeffrey M. Eggemeyer, Denver co-chair for the Trump Colorado campaign.

Eggemeyer said there were 20 volunteers working at the office when it happened, including one of the campaign’s regional heads’ young son, who was nearly hit with the rock.

The rock pierced an exterior window, putting a hole it, then shattered an interior window. Eggemeyer said there is still broken glass everywhere.

“The biggest takeaway from last night — people have to be responsible for their own behavior. We literally do respect the rule of law. We’re the party of law and order,” he said. “And the really warming thing from both of our vandalism incidents yesterday was the amount of people who without being asked came to help clean … We were just really warmed by the amount of volunteers who came to help us in an adverse moment.”

Update: Denver police have 33-year-old Michael Ferrara in custody “in relation to the reported Criminal Mischief case.”

Police spokesman Tyrone Campbell confirmed for the Denver Post that Ferrara is the suspect in the rock-throwing incident.

Less than 24 hours earlier, someone vandalized an outside wall of the building and it had to be power washed. Eggemeyer said Eric Trump called the volunteer who cleaned the graffiti to thank him.
