Only 362 days until you can vote on more stuff: Denver and Colorado’s next elections

Y’all ready for some more voting? Mark your calendars.

Gotta load the ballots. (Andrew Kenney/Denverite)

Y’all ready for some more voting? Mark your calendars. Here’s what’s next for Colorado voters – and no, I’m not including primaries.

May 7, 2017:

Denver could hold a municipal general election on initiatives, referenda and to fill any vacancies. I didn’t include this in the countdown because there won’t necessarily be anything to vote on, unless I missed something. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Nov. 7, 2017:

Denver will vote on four positions for its Board of Education. They include an at-large seat, which covers the whole city, plus the seats for districts 2, 3 and 4. (Here’s a map.)

Denver also will vote on whether the city should take on more bonds, aka debt.

Nov. 6, 2018:

Big one! Colorado votes for:

  • Governor
  • Lt. Governor
  • All seven of our U.S. House of Representatives seats
  • Colorado Secretary of State
  • All 65 of our Colorado House of Representatives seats
  • A bunch of state Senate seats (All the ones listed here)
  • State Treasurer
  • State Attorney General
  • State Board of Education districts 2 and 4 (map here)
  • CU regents districts 3, 5, 7 and at-large (map here)
  • A bunch of RTD board seats (All the ones listed here)
May 7, 2019:

All of the Denver’s City Council seats, the mayorship, the auditor-ship and the clerk-and-recorder-ship are up for electoral grabs.

Did I miss something?

Thanks to Nick Brown for telling me about the possibility of a May 2017 election. Tweet or email me if you’ve got more.
