Nolan Arenado is a good baseball player, if you haven’t heard by now. This offseason, the Colorado Rockies third baseman won a Gold Glove — his fourth in four seasons — and a Silver Slugger Award.

Arenado didn’t win any more hardware Thursday, but he did finish fifth in National League Most Valuable Player voting.

The Cubs’ Kris Bryant ran away with the award, as he received 29 of 30 first-place votes and 415 points total. Nationals second baseman Daniel Murphy was second with 245 points. Dodgers rookie shortstop Corey Seager and Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo were third and fourth, respectively.

Bryant hit .292 with 39 home runs and 102 RBIs this season. He was, of course, apart of the Cubs team that broke through for a World Series for the first time in 108 years.

Arenado, who played half his games at the hitters-friendly Coors Field, hit .294 with 41 home runs and 133 RBIs.

Two of Arenado’s teammates, second baseman D.J. LeMahieu and center fielder Charlie Blackmon, also received votes. LeMahieu got three ninth-place votes and two 10th-place votes, while Blackmon got a lone 10th-place vote.

Arenado, LeMahieu and Blackmon are all apart of a Rockies’ lineup that looks downright terrifying in 2017.
