Reminder: RTD buses and trains are free on New Year’s Eve

Some service will also be limited.

Don’t drive this New Year’s Eve. For the eighth year in a row, regularly scheduled RTD buses and trains will be letting everyone ride for free starting at 7 p.m. Dec. 31.

Access-a-Ride and SkyRide will also be free.

Free rides end at 7 a.m. on Jan. 1, so if you’re having that kind of night, try to get it together before then. And remember that the trains and buses stop running for several hours in the early morning. Check the schedules before you go and take a screen shot so you don’t have to fumble to find it later.

Service will be running on a Saturday schedule on New Year’s Eve and a Sunday/holiday schedule on New Year’s Day.

Also keep in mind that service will be disrupted by the fireworks downtown. There will be limited service on the MallRide and no service on the D, F and H light rail lines between the Theatre District/Convention Center and 18th & California/Stout stations.

Like I always say, #NeverDrive.
