Try not to freak out: Shake Shack is coming to Denver later this year.

It’s been a long time since the burger and milkshake joint expanded out of New York City, giving more Americans access to its 100 percent Angus beef burgers, crinkle fries and A+ milkshakes.

Now the Shake Shack is expanding its sweet and savory empire to the Mile High, specifically River North. The exact location has yet to be announced.

If you’re not sure what all the hype is about, take a peek at the menu.

And if you’ve never been persuaded to try a coffee milkshake before, let Shake Shack be the place to convert you. In this reporter’s humble opinion, it’s the gold standard for coffee shakes.

Shake Shack also has a great veggie burger: Crisp-fried portobello mushroom filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheeses, topped with lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce.

You only have to wait a year(ish).

(I’m not crying, you’re crying.)

P.S. This seems like a good time to remind everyone that In N Out is still not coming to Denver anytime soon.
