Five Points Film Series presents the work of local filmmakers at the Crossroads Theater, 2590 Washington St.
Starting at 7:30 p.m., see films by Jeff Nixon, Blake Kimmel, Tom Kolicko, D.K. Johnston, David Quakenbush, John Johnston and Beyond the Infinite Multimedia. They’ll be serving beer, wine and cocktails for donations.
Admission is free and doors open at 7 p.m., show starts at 7:30.
The Denver Food + Wine Festival enters its second night with an opportunity for you to really step up your dining game.
Dinner Under the Stars — held from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Blanc Event Center, 3150 Walnut St. — is a six-course dinner with wine pairings. Each course will be prepared by a different Denver chef, and the wine will be chosen by master sommelier Damon Ornowski with Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits of Colorado. Guests will get to take home the glassware from each course.
Here’s a look at who will be there and what they’ll be serving.
- Course one: Kelly Whitaker of Basta, charcuterie and crudo — kampachi crudo, la quercia speck, binchotan pineapple and benne seed — paired with a glass of Terredora, Fiano Di Avellino – Campania, Italy, 2014.
- Course two: Dana Rodriguez of Work & Class, salad of Colorado peaches, grilled shishito peppers, Fruition Farms ricotta cheese and arugula in a honey-citrus vinaigrette, paired with a glass of Schloss Johannisberg, Riesling Gelblack – Rheingau, Germany, 2014.
- Course three: Paul Reilly of Beast & Bottle and Coperta, salt cod ravioli with pepperonata, olive, caper berry and marjoram butter, paired with a glass of Michel Niellon, Chassagne-Montrachet – Burgundy, France, 2013.
- Course four: presented by Alex Seidel of Fruition and Mercantile Dining & Provision, pan roasted cobia with shiro dashi, cauliflower, shiitake mushrooms and toasted nori, paired with a glass of Roman Collet, Chablis Montmains – Burgundy, France, 2013.
- Course five: Amos Watts of Old Major, pork and lobster sausage with Colorado grits, clams, heirloom tomatoes and lobster gravy, paired with a glass of Chateau D’Esclans, Rock Angel Rosé – Provence, France, 2015.
- Course six: Mark Metzger of Jill’s Restaurant and the St Julien Hotel & Spa, Palisade peach melba with raspberry caramel, mascarpone panna cotta and marcona almond, paired with a glass of Nicolas, Sauternes – Bordeaux, France, 2012.

Jogtography — The act of jogging and taking photographs at the same time.
Try it out this evening at Ratio Beerworks, 2920 Larimer St., from 6 to 7 p.m. Just bring your camera (even if that’s just your cellphone) and your running gear for a 5K through RiNo that incorporates photography basics. Bring your dog if you want. After the run, you’ll get a free beer.
