Look at all these dogs and cats! They’re free! Take them!

Denver and Aurora have a whole bunch of dogs, cats, puppies, kitties, pooches, meow-meows, hounds and assorted furballs ready for you to take home for free.

Aurora Animal Shelter and Denver Animal Shelter are waiving all adoption fees on Saturday, Aug. 19.

Normally, those fees would run up to $150 or more for dogs and slightly less for cats at the shelters. Many of the animals are spayed or neutered and ready to go home, while others are awaiting the procedure. License fees in both cities also will be waived.

The Aurora event runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the shelter at 15750 E. 32nd Ave.

The Denver event runs 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the shelter at 1241 W. Bayaud Ave.

However, a personal note here: Having a dog means you always have to be ready to pay hundreds of dollars because your best friend might have eaten pills out of the garbage. So, the adoption may be free, but the dog sure isn’t.

Meanwhile, here are some animals you could adopt this weekend. Just saying.
