The Underground Music Showcase made its first lineup announcement today for the 2017 festival.

Topping the bill this year are New Orleans singer and guitarist Benjamin Booker, Portland stoner-metal band Red Fang and local singer-songwriter, Esmé Patterson.

For those of you new to the UMS: The four-day festival on South Broadway features hundreds of bands in more than a dozen venues between Fifth and Alameda avenues, including an outdoor main stage this year at 363 S. Broadway (the former site of K-Mart).

This year’s festival will be held July 27-30.

Among the 195 artists announced in the first round are local mainstays Call of the Void, Colfax Speed Queen, CRL CRRLL, déCollage, Plume Varia, Slow Caves and … well, obviously a whole lot more.

Tickets are on sale now. A four-day pass costs $55 in advance and $75 the day of.
