The Big Wonderful — you know, that daylong outdoor festival and market that used to happen on that empty lot in Five Points — will be back this year beginning on May 5-7, and it’s got a new home in Globeville.

The new location at 4400 Fox St. once was a place where The Denver Post printed newspapers.

This year’s first party will coincide with Kentucky Derby weekend, so ready your best hats and seersucker, if you’re into that.

The all-local-everything lineup includes drinks from 20 different breweries, distilleries and the like, and music from Jeff Austin & Friends, the Drew Emmitt Band, Andy Thorn & Friends, Rob Drabkin and DeadPhish Orchestra.

The festival also is getting a new, seasonal schedule similar to that of the Denver Flea, with future events to happen in July, September and December.

It’s not yet certain whether the Big Wonderful will be back at the new Globeville spot in those later months, but a representative for the Big Wonderful says the hope is to stay there.

Tickets are on sale now and $15 “super early bird” three-day passes are still available.
