Nursing mothers now have a quiet, comfortable space to breastfeed their children in all three of Denver’s pro sports venues.

The Pepsi Center, which houses the Nuggets and Avalanche, has had a lactation suite for nursing mothers since 2016. Coors Field, the home of the Rockies, and Sports Authority Field at Mile High, the home of the Broncos, now do as well thanks to a partnership with UCHealth.

All three venues feature a 4-foot-by-8-foot pod designed for nursing mothers and their children. The Mamava-designed pods come complete with air conditioning, a fold-down table, electrical outlets for plugging in a pump and a lockable door for privacy.

Denver is the first and only city to have nursing suites in all of its downtown sports venues, according to the hospital network.

“The UCHealth Nursing Suites offer nursing moms who are wanting to enjoy activities outside the home a way to achieve their breastfeeding goals in a comfortable setting,” said Jessica Anderson, a midwife at UCHealth’s University of Colorado Hospital in a news release. “Breastfeeding provides long-term health benefits for babies and their mothers, and the nursing suites are part of UCHealth’s dedication to support, educate and encourage families throughout the breastfeeding journey.”

The suite at Coors Field is located behind Section 114, while the suite at the Pepsi Center is located outside Section 130.

The suite at Sports Authority Field at Mile High, which will be available to fans starting Aug. 26, is located near Gate 6.
