Joey Chestnut will defend his hot dog eating crown

Last year, Chestnut downed 70 dogs in 10 minutes. This year, he’ll try to top that and win his 10th Nathan’s Famous July Fourth hot dog eating crown. The event starts on ESPN at 10 a.m. (AP)

Hospital mergers in Colorado: Better technology but a higher price? 

The Yampa Valley Medical Center in Steamboat Springs announced that after 71 years of independence, it’s merging with Colorado health giant UCHealth. Experts say that mergers such as this one help rural hospitals get the best technology but also lead to higher prices for patients. (DP)

Bourbon Grill is on the move

Everybody’s favorite walk-up chicken joint on East Colfax is temporarily shut down, but it won’t be for long. Bourbon Grill will soon reopen at 571 East Colfax Ave., not far from the O.G. location. The new location will have indoor seating. We can only hope the chicken tastes as good. (Westword)

Judge pumps brakes on plans for Topgolf in Thornton 

The Dallas-based golf entertainment company was given the go-ahead to build a 65,000 square-foot facility next to Thorncreek Golf Course by the Thornton City Council in August 2016. However, a nearby homeowner filed a lawsuit that claimed putting in the Topgolf at that location is a zoning violation. On June 30, a judge agreed, and plans to build the Topgolf were put on hold.
