Woof. It is going to be downright warm today, with a high of 79 degrees and clear, sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service. The mountains are seeing temperatures in the 50s and 60s. The atmosphere is unusually dry, creating a fire danger on the plains.

A Pacific storm system over the weekend is expected to bring cooler temperatures and some moisture, especially to the mountains, but only for a couple days.
