The Downtown Denver Rink at Skyline Park reopens for its eighth season on Nov. 22, just in time to bring the whole family tottering out onto ice for Thanksgiving.

Skating at Skyline Park is free. Skate rentals are $8 for adults and $6 for kids 12 and younger. Avid skaters can get a season skate-rental pass — $50 for adults and $35 for kids 12 and younger.

On opening day, rentals will be free. A celebration featuring remarks from Denver City Council President Albus Brooks, Denver Civic Ventures Board of Directors chair Trini Rodriguez and Denver Parks and Recreation executive director Happy Haynes will kick off at 10:30 a.m. There will also be live music from The Wildflowers and free cookies and hot cocoa from the Corner Bakery Café.

Throughout the season, the Skyline Park rink will have DJs on Friday nights, skating with Santa, weekly “snow yoga,” free skating lessons and more.

In its first seven seasons, the rink attracted more than 325,000 visitors.

“Each year we look forward to the opportunity to bring the community together at the Downtown Denver Rink at Skyline Park and expect more than 50,000 people to lace up and take to the ice this year,” Sharon Alton, vice president of Downtown Experience for the Downtown Denver Partnership, said in a release.
