The former home of model train store Caboose Hobbies was demolished this month to make way for what could be a new Starbucks along South Broadway.

Developers are planning a small, one-story “eating and drinking establishment” on the site at 500 S. Broadway, according to a plan submitted to the city Feb. 21. Starbucks is listed as a partner on the plan.

The Seattle-based coffee company didn’t immediately return a call from Denverite.

David, Hicks & Lampert Brokerage is leasing the 25,334-square-foot site. The Greenwood Village-based firm didn’t immediately return a call from Denverite on Tuesday. The owner of the building is listed as Nine Lives. The Denver-based company is registered to Elly Valas. Valas could also not immediately be reached Tuesday.

The model train store Caboose Hobbies left 500 S. Broadway last year and under new ownership relocated to 10800 W. Alameda Ave. in Lakewood.
