Four days after he was carted off the football field, Garett Bolles was back on the gridiron going through practice.

The Denver Broncos rookie left tackle, who exited Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys with what was later diagnosed as a bone bruise in his lower leg, went through drills Thursday with his left ankle heavily taped.

Bolles appeared to be in severe pain in the moments after a Dallas defender inadvertently rolled on his leg, wiping away tears as he was carted off. Some speculated that Bolles could miss several weeks with the injury, but it appears that the Broncos first-round pick out of Utah will be back sooner than expected.

It’s a big win for Denver if Bolles is healthy enough to play Sunday. The Broncos face the Buffalo Bills on the road at 11 a.m.
