John Elway — but not the Broncos! — endorses Judge Neil Gorsuch for the Supreme Court

As confirmation hearings for Judge Neil Gorsuch got underway Monday in Washington, D.C., noted legal scholar John Elway sent a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee on his Broncos letterhead endorsing Gorsuch for the nation’s highest court.

The Broncos’ vice president for public relations quickly distinguished between the team and Elway’s capacity as vice president and general manager of the team.

U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner made mention of Elway’s endorsement as he introduced Gorsuch Monday afternoon and praised Gorsuch as a mainstream jurist who will bring a Western perspective to the court.
