Dutch Bros. Coffee shop plans to open its first Denver area location this spring near Casa Bonita in Lakewood.
The Oregon-based coffee company started building this fall in the Lamar Station Plaza near Pierce Street and West Colfax Avenue. The opening is tentatively set for mid-spring, according to franchise owner Dave Szopa.
“After a lot of hoops and delay, we finally broke ground in November of 2017 and we are making amazing progress. We plan to have the building completed the beginning of March with the opening planned for the beginning of April,”Szopa said.
Dutch Bros. is the largest privately-held, drive-thru coffee chain in the U.S. with more than 260 locations and 6,500 to 7,000 employees in Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Colorado.
There are six Dutch Bros. locations in Colorado Springs as well as a location in Loveland and one in Fort Collins, according to the company’s website.
