When Latigo shut its doors for good earlier this month, the closing seemed to go largely unnoticed. It was noted on Yelp and mentioned in Eater and Westword, but the restaurant itself made no announcement or gave any reason.
But this week, Denverite spotted notices on the front doors ordering the restaurant out within three days of being served. According to the documents taped in multiples to the doors, Latigo owes $40,859.34 in rent, plus interest.
It’s unclear when Latigo received the notices. One is a demand for payment of rent or possession; the other is a summons to appear in court on Aug. 30. The plaintiff is listed as Blake Street Retail LLC.
Portions of Latigo’s logo have already been removed from the windows and the interior looked mostly cleaned out but for the furniture.
A representative of Latigo did not immediately reply to a request for comment.
