Lucky Cat is closing so Troy Guard can focus on his other projects

Guard’s TAG Restaurant Group just opened Bubu downtown in April and will soon have two more new restaurants.

Chef and owner Troy Guard is closing up shop at Lucky Cat at the end of the day May 13.

The Denver Post reports that Guard decided to close the Lowry spot known for its Asian tacos and Americanized Chinese fare in order to focus on his many, many other projects.

Guard’s TAG Restaurant Group just opened Bubu downtown in April and will soon have two new restaurants — another outpost of Los Chingones and a new casual breakfast spot called Hashtag — in the rapidly growing culinary hotspot that is the Eastbridge Town Center in Stapleton.

He also has Mister Tuna, Guard & Grace, Sugarmill, TAG, TAG Burger Bar and two other locations of Los Chingones to think about.

Saturday will be your last chance to get into Lucky Cat (7559 E. Academy Blvd.). Hours are 4 to 9:15 p.m.
