Work is underway to bring new life to the warehouse adjacent to 10 Barrel Brewing Co. in Ballpark.

City officials approved a plan in May for the site at the northeast corner of 26th and Walnut streets to be converted into an office. The 11,780-square-foot building used to house the longtime Denver manufacturer Custom Corned Beef Inc.

Custom Corned Beef Inc. moved into 2600 Walnut St. in the ’80s and stayed there until its move to 5575 Logan Court in Adams County.  A call to Custom inquiring about the manufacturer’s exact move date was not immediately returned Tuesday. The company was sold by the Jewsbury family to Florida-based New Water Capital Partners earlier this year.

Corner 26 LLC purchased 2600 Walnut St. from the Jewsbury family for $1.28 million in July 2013. The Denver-based company is registered to Jeff Padrick, head of Denver photography firm Klug Studio.

Padrick did not return multiple emails from Denverite about his project. A plan filed with the city shows Corner 26 LLC plans to convert the 81-year-old building into two office suites — one for a photography studio and the other for an unidentified tenant.

Hive Construction and Lubowicki Architecture are working on the project, according to the plan. Lubowicki designed Klug Studio’s current space at 1201 24th St. in Five Points as well as other notable projects in Denver such as The Church and Club Vinyl, according to the firm’s website.
