Doug Brustman was reportedly preparing to take in a minor-league baseball game with his daughter when he took an errant baseball to the balls courtesy of former Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow.

According to the New York Post, Brustman and his daughter were hanging out behind the visitor’s dugout at the Columbia Fireflies-Lakewood Blue Claws game on Tuesday. Tebow and his teammates were warming up in front of them when Tebow accidentally overthrew a teammate.

That’s when disaster struck.

“I hear this guy behind me yell, ‘Watch out,’” said Brustman, per the Post. “And as he’s yelling, the ball comes right through the railing and hits me right in the nuts. It was a direct hit.”

“It was literally like a Seinfeld episode. The guy behind me shouts, ‘It was TEBOW.’ It reminded me of his days with the Jets when he couldn’t complete a pass. This guy is so inaccurate, even with a baseball.”

Tebow went over to Brustman and made sure he was OK, the Post reported. Tebow then signed the baseball for Brustman as well as two books for the man’s daughter. What a swell guy.

Tebow, who is also a broadcaster for the SEC Network, is hitting .221 with two home runs this season for the Fireflies. He has played in 32 games for Columbia, which is the New York Mets’ Single-A affiliate.
