The home of New York Deli News in southeast Denver has sold for $1.6 million, but there’s good reason to believe the restaurant will stay put.

Albert and Victoria Belsky, the managers of Belsky LLC, sold 7105 E. Hampden Ave. on March 31. The couple started New York Deli News in 1989 and have won their reputation among East Coasters in part by trucking meats and breads from New York.

The buyer is DaniBel LLC, a corporation registered to Lawrence Bergstein. Lawrence Bergstein also is the name of a former executive chef of The Capital Grille and Shanahan’s Steakhouse, but we haven’t confirmed the connection yet.

Bergstein recently registered NY Deli News Inc. in Colorado. Public records show that NY Deli News will operate as a tenant of the new company.

The 10,000-square-foot building was built in 1970, according to property records. The Colorado Real Estate Journal first reported the sale.
