The Nikola Jokic assist of the week: The return of #Jurkic

Jokic catches the ball in transition near the free throw line and throws a quick lob to Nurkic, who slams it home.

Nikola Jokic and Jusuf Nurkic have hardly played with each other since starting the first eight games of the season together. They’ve shared the court for just 5 minutes since that ill-fated experiment was abandoned in mid-November.

But on Monday against the Dallas Mavericks, we got a brief glimpse of the two together for the first time in a while, and it gave us this:

Jokic catches the ball in transition near the free throw line and throws a quick lob to Nurkic, who slams it home.

Denver’s #Jurkic lineups have mostly been a net negative. The Nuggets have been outscored by 38 points in their 108 minutes together on the court this season. But at least their time together gave us this bit of goodness.

I asked the Elias Sports Bureau if this was the first alley-oop between a Serbian and Bosnian player in NBA history. Still waiting for a response.
