The Nuggets (probably) tried to FaceTime Adrian Wojanrowski last night — and today they’re reportedly set to meet Paul Millsap

“Adrian is back,” said Van Pelt, introducing ESPN’s newest free-agent acquisition. “We’d just like to tell the Nuggets, ‘Hi’. You can’t FaceTime when he’s on air.'”

Did the Denver Nuggets try to FaceTime the NBA’s most in-the-know reporter just as he was about to do a live TV spot? That’s what it sounded like when Adrian Wojnarowski sat down with Scott Van Pelt Friday night as part of ESPN’s NBA free agency extravaganza.

“Adrian is back,” said Van Pelt, introducing ESPN’s newest free-agent acquisition. “We’d just like to tell the Nuggets, ‘Hi’. You can’t FaceTime when he’s on air. Just pretend like he’s FaceTiming you right now. You’re watching. ‘Hi, good to see you. He’ll talk to you later.'”

Wojnarowski laughed before getting back to business.

The Nuggets had a relatively quiet first few hours of free agency, though Tony Jones of the Salt Lake Tribune reported that Denver will sit down with unrestricted free agent Paul Millsap on Saturday.

Denver has long been linked to the 31-year-old power forward, including in trade talks last season. Millsap averaged 18.1 points and 7.7 rebounds on 44.2 percent shooting from the field and 31.1 percent from 3-point land last season.

Millsap will also meet with the Phoenix Suns on Sunday, per Jones. The New York Daily News’ Frank Isola reported that Denver and Minnesota are the “frontrunners” for Millsap.

Point guard George Hill also sounds like he’ll be another Nuggets target. Jones reported that Denver and San Antonio are two of the teams interested in his services. Hill, 30, averaged 16.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists while shooting 47.7 percent from the field and 40.3 percent shooting from 3. He played for the Jazz last season.
