Police say a 21-year-old pickup truck driver caused the crash that sent an RTD bus careening into a home in Elyria-Swansea at about 3:25 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police suspect that the pickup driver failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the bus, starting the crash on the 4500 block of Josephine Street.

Three people were hospitalized. Their conditions weren’t immediately known.

The 21-year-old was held for investigation of driving without a license; driving under restraint, which means driving while there’s a limit on your license; failure to display proof of insurance; careless driving resulting in injury; and failure to stop at a stop sign.
