Señor Bear opens tonight in the former Jezebel’s space in Highland

They’ll be serving modern takes on things like ceviche, tamales and mofongo, and lots of seafood.

Multiple people have asked, so let me start by saying that, no, Señor Bear is not a gay bar.

Actually, it’s a seafood-centric Latin restaurant, and it’s opening for the first time tonight at 3301 Tejon St.

Up until October 2016, the space — across the street from Old Major and just down the block from LoHi Steakhouse and Williams & Graham — was home to the Southern bistro Jezebel’s.

Starting today at 5 p.m., it officially becomes Señor Bear. They’ll be serving modern takes on things like ceviche, tamales and mofongo, and lots of seafood.

And at first glance, the cocktail program is looking extremely refreshing:

Hours are 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Since it’s warm outside, it’s opening weekend and they have a patio, a reservation might not be a bad idea.
