Sephora is set to open Friday at the Denver Pavilions.

The Paris-based cosmetics chain and the soon-to-open maker of “burrito style” sushi rolls Motomaki bring the empty space at the shopping center at the southeast end of the 16th Street Mall to “an exciting low 3 percent,” said Wendy Manning, marketing director of the pavilions.

The Denver Pavilions has about 350,000 square feet of retail space — around 10,000 square feet open. Sephora is leasing a spot next to Maggiano’s Little Italy restaurant on the ground floor of the Pavilions.

A ribbon cutting for the store is expected be held 10 a.m. Friday. On Saturday, the Denver Pavilions will host a Love UR Selfie event from 2-6 p.m. in front of Sephora.

Attendees can view beauty tutorials from local experts on the latest products, a selfie station, sunscreen station and free makeup touch ups.
