Southerners rejoice? Raising Cane’s plans four Denver metro chicken joints

You know all those fast-food joints that a select set of people absolutely love and nobody else has ever heard of? Here’s another one.

You know all those fast-food joints that a select set of people absolutely love and nobody else has ever heard of? Here’s another one: Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers will open four restaurants in the southern Denver metro beginning late in June.

The company confirmed in a news release that its next Colorado outlet will be at 1108 Sgt. Jon Stiles Drive in Highlands Ranch.

The release also mentions three additional Denver-area restaurants. It doesn’t say where, but the company is hiring for locations in Castle Rock, Centennial and Parker.

Raising Cane’s first Colorado restaurant is in Fort Collins. I have never tried the place, but these people on Reddit sure seem excited. Apparently it’s a lot like Zaxby’s, with a focus on fried chicken and toast, except that coleslaw is the only salad at Raising Cane’s.

(“It’s the only thing on the Raising Cane’s menu that you’ll need a fork for!”, according to the company, which is a real relief for all you fork-fearing people.)

Also, the place is named after founder Todd Graves’ yellow labrador, “Raising Cane,” which really raises the question of why his dog is named “Raising Cane.” Further investigation reveals that his current dog is actually named “Raising Cane II,” as Raising Cane I has died.

Cain, as you’ll remember, was the Biblical figure who committed the first murder. To raise Cain, therefore, is to make trouble. Hopefully that answers all your questions about these chicken fingers.
