It’s been well more than a year since Argyll Whiskey Beer closed at 17th Avenue and Downing Street. Now we finally know what will replace it.

It’s been well more than a year since Argyll Whiskey Beer closed at 17th Avenue and Downing Street. Now we finally know what will replace it: a new Stoney’s Bar & Grill.

The owners will do some remodeling and try to open by the end of the year, The Know reports.

Argyll, which was owned by the people who own Punch Bowl Social, lasted about two years in that space before they decided to close it and focus on Punch Bowl’s growth.

Before that, you might remember, a Las Margaritas lived at 1035 E. 17th Ave.

The arrival of Stoney’s will fill a sports bar-shaped hole in the area.

“We love Uptown and felt there was not a lot of more casual bars or sports bars in the neighborhood,” owner Stoney Jesseph told The Know.
