Alamo Drafthouse Sloans Lake, 4255 W. Colfax Ave., is hosting a screening of “District 9” to benefit Global Refuge at 7:30 p.m.
In case you somehow missed all the chatter about the film back in 2009: “District 9” is about aliens who come to Earth seeking refuge from their dying planet only to have their camp in South Africa turned into their prison.
Tickets are $10 and about half of the theater was still available at 11:30 a.m.
Tonight’s edition of the Ratio Quiz Show is all about “Saved By the Bell.”
As always, audience teams will compete against a panel of “experts.” If the experts win, the audience gets bad prizes. If an audience team wins, everyone gets good prizes.
It’s free, sign up starts at 8 p.m. and the game starts at 8:30 p.m.
And if simply consuming some charcuterie and cider is more your speed tonight, well, you know where to go.
Stem Ciders, 2811 Walnut St., with help from Culture Meat & Cheese, will be pairing four cured meats from Old Major with four ciders. It’s $20 to try it all. Drop by anytime from 6 to 9 p.m. (though earlier is always safer).
