Tonight at the McNichols Building, 144 W. Colfax Ave., Historic Denver will host a panel discussion on “what gives a landscape its meaning” and the “layers of change in the places you love.”

There to talk about Washington Park, Red Rocks, the 16th Street Mall and Federal Boulevard will be Ann Komara, chairwoman of the Department of Landscape Architecture at the University of Colorado Denver, Bill Wenk, principal at Wenk & Associates and fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects, Kathleen King, landscape architect and urban designer at Design Workshop, and Ryan Sotirakis, landscape designer at Dig Studio.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and the two-hour program starts at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free.

And if you feel less like thinking and more like dancing, the Lituation is here for you.

The party starts at the Hi-Dive, 7 S. Broadway, at 9 p.m., and there’s no cover.

Cider. Meat. Together at last again at Stem Ciders, 2811 Walnut St.

Culture Meat and Cheese will be in-house pairing with four cured meats from Old Major with four ciders. Take a look at the menu:

  • Country pate with L’Acier cider
  • Rock Mountain sea salt salami with pear apple cider
  • Coppa with raspberry apple cider
  • Goat chorizo with off-dry apple cider

It costs $20, no reservations required. Drop by anytime from 6 to 9 p.m., but consider getting there on the early side in case they run out.
