The Pretenders are playing at Twist & Shout, so drop whatever you’re doing and go get yourself a wristband right now.

They’ll be playing an acoustic set at 7 p.m. To get a wristband, you need to buy their new album, “Alone,” in store (2508 E. Colfax Ave.). There will not be a meet-and-greet.

Good luck!

Think you’re the best pumpkin carver in Denver? At the very least, you could be the best pumpkin carver in the Irish Snug at 6:30 p.m.

People can start picking out pumpkins at 6 p.m. They’re $5 each and the event is not BYOP. Carving utensils will be provided, too.

The best jack-o-lantern will earn its creator a cash prize, so don’t have too many drinks while you carve. (This is also sound advice if you’d rather not slice off a thumb.)

3 Course Comedy takes on the extravagantly and unabashedly unhealthy world of tailgate foods tonight at the Deer Pile, 206 E. 13th Ave.

Comedians Adrian Mesa and Eric Henderson will lead the charge, with help from Chance Moreland, Talon Saucerman and Nic Dean.

Food will be served at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 8:30 p.m.

Drop by The White Whale Room, 415 S. Cherokee St., for a Spooktacular open mic night from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Participants can read their original horror writing or share classics. There will also be a costume contest, so dress to impress and/or scare. The prizes are classic horror books.

Cubs parties:

Indians parties:

The game starts at 6:08 p.m. MT.
