If you have a pet or know someone who has a pet — so you know, if you are a human participating in society — you know that pet owners love to talk about the dumb and adorable things their pets do.

Tonight, from 7 to 9 p.m., Raconteur Denver is going to make a show of that beloved pastime at Beryl’s Beer Co., 3120 Blake St. Brendan Gann, Jamie Laurie and Andy Zicklin will each share their stories and, as always, you can share your stories, too. (Here are the guidelines for participating.)

For this month’s edition of Ignite Night, Warm Cookies of the Revolution is tackling the subject of urban growth and development. So, you know, buckle up.

They enlisted the help of a comedian and an activist to come up with an ideal city, which you can explore with them tonight from 5 to 8 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for seniors and $12 general admission.

Over at Curious Theatre Co., 1080 Acoma St., you can get a glimpse at work in progress with a free reading of “God Hates You” at 8 p.m.

The play by Emily Dendinger centers on Laurel, a highly active and important member of a church modeled after the Westboro Baptist Church, and a time in her life when everything she believes is called into question.

And if you’re just looking to indulge a little, head over to Stem Ciders, 2811 Walnut St., cider and ice cream pairing with Glacier Ice Cream from 6 to 9 p.m.

Here’s the $20 menu:

  • Strawberry sorbet with L’Acier float
  • Lavender Gelato with Off-dry
  • Cinnamon Short Bread Cookie Gelato with Real Dry
  • Bittersweet chocolate gelato with raspberry cider
