What $349,990 buys you in Denver and three other real estate markets

Last week, about 40 percent of homes that sold in Denver went for less than $350,000.

It’s a price point that covetable here since at least one report says Denver metro single-family homes now have a $400,000 median sale price. Is the grass actually greener on the other side? Here’s a look at real estate in Denver and three other cities.

If you only look west of I-25, you’ll find this small Barnum home with a great looking kitchen. Also, lately barn wood seems to have become a popular finishing touch on Denver homes, like in the hallway seen in the fourth photo. I’m not a huge fan, but it’s not bad-looking.

  • $350,000
  • 12 Exner Place, 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2,464 square feet

Now this is the Longmont of my youth– a modest ranch home that feels a bit out of the 70s. This house also has a real wood-burning fireplace if you’re into that sort of thing.

  • $350,000
  • 27 Hanuman, 1 bedroom, 1 full bathroom, 1,760 square feet

I’ve still got Santa Fe on the brain and a friend recently described the place as like a college town for retirees. Maybe if I start saving now, I could hang with the hip older folk in this “off the grid” space.

Alright, I’m guilty of liking a new build. This one has only one front window and some weirdly shaped bedroom windows.
