Speeding SUV leaves tire mark on man’s shirt in grocery store hit-and-run

The victim was seriously injured. Any witnesses are asked to call Wheat Ridge police.

A man who had just gotten out of his car in a grocery store parking lot was run over by a fast-moving SUV on Monday afternoon, according to Wheat Ridge police.

The hit-and-run collision happened outside the Safeway at 3900 Wadsworth Boulevard between 3 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. on July 31. The collision left a tire track on the man’s shirt.

The suspect driver in the light-colored SUV then turned right onto 38th Avenue and proceeded west before turning right again onto Wadsworth Boulevard and continuing north, all at high speed, according to police.

The victim was seriously injured. Any witnesses are asked to call Wheat Ridge police at 303-237-2220.
