It’s hard to open a sake taproom in Colorado, but new legislation could change that

Colorado Sake Co. hopes state legislators will tweak alcohol laws to allow sake to be elevated.

Colorado alcohol producers are allowed to have taprooms for beer, tasting rooms for wine and speakeasies for spirits.

But state rules don’t make it easy to create spaces exclusively for sake.

The North Face unveils plans for public climbing wall in Montbello

The wall North Face is funding in Montbello Open Space Park is part of the company’s “Walls Are Meant for Climbing” initiative.

The North Face announced plans Thursday to build its first free, public climbing wall within the underserved Montbello neighborhood in northeast Denver.

The climbing wall would be a part of the larger ongoing Montbello Open Space Park restoration project. The park near Albrook Drive and East 46th Avenue is expected to open in mid-July, according to The North Face.
